We’ve made it to the end of our first month of 2025, whew, so let’s get together in February to share how each of our organization’s are leaning into social impact this year, learn about our Cause Conference plans for this year and make new cause alliance connections.

Hosted at University of San Diego, CC22 attracted over 450 multi sector attendees from across the SD region. We awarded Zoey Brown, USD Marketing Major, a $1,000 scholarship for her social impact work.
Hosted at UCSD, over 50 public and private sector attendees gathered to share social impact insights and gather input about our new Cause San Diego initiative.
Cause San Diego leadership and planning committee members donated food items and built over 400 sack lunches for those experiencing homelessness.
Hosted by Junior Achievement of San Diego County, over 60 organizations gathered to share their 2022 social impact success stories and explore areas of alignment for 2023 and beyond.
Join us on April 22, Earth Day, for a free movie showing of Beyond Zero at UCSD Epstein Center. Meet others in the region seeking ways to make a bigger impact on social issues impacting our communities. Thank you, Conscious Capitalism SD for hosting this event.
In preparation for our 2023 Conference, we hosted our 2nd Focus Group on July 12 to gain insights about the challenges and opportunities that drive social impact activities in the region.
Hosted at the new Sharp Prebys Innovation and Education Center with over 350 attendees, the event was a full day of education, inspiration and activation for our San Diego business community, nonprofit sector and higher education institutions. Cause San Diego volunteers set up a Kindness Station at this family-friendly event to educate youth and adults about ways to take care of humanity and our planet. Visitors made origami art, learned about the key issues impacting our region and picked Laura Hall’s book, The ABCs of Conscious Capitalism for Kids.
Thank you, VentureX Scripps Ranch for hosting our event and to all our guests for stopping by to learn more about our mission and plans for 2024. We also collected over $500 in supplies and clothing to support victims of the Jan. 2024 Flooding in San Diego.
In partnership with OnPurpose Squared, we hosted 30 participants at our first Social Impact workshop for businesses seeking guidance on how to develop, enhance and highlight their organization’s CSR, ESG and Social Impact programs and activities. Based on feedback from our 2023 Cause Conference, our goal is to help organizations move beyond outputs and measure for outcomes and impact that offer a true return on social investment (ROSI). Thank you Molly Cartmill and Beatriz Palomino Young for sharing your depth expertise and experience in Corporate philanthropic giving and impact reporting.
In partnership with (W)right on Communications, 35 for profit and nonprofit professionals attended our first luncheon held at Boujiemana Restaurant to strengthen their understanding and ability to leverage paid, earned, shared and owned media to amplify their impact. Julie Wright and Capree Waters brought key examples of how businesses and charitable organizations are using a mix of influencers, created content, community promoters and 3rd party media to reach their target audiences. Thank you, ladies, for sharing your depth experience with our attendees!
We met up with Cause Conference supporters & fellow social impact champions to discuss current operations across our nonprofit organizations.

Thank you to over 25 attendees that joined us to learn about the new CA Doughnut Portrait, released in Nov. by CALDEC, and how to use this information to help businesses, nonprofits and others prioritize their social impact work. We also discussed a SD County portrait and which issues should be measured; held at the ignite center sparked by BBB
We had such a nice walk along Mission Bay with over 40 attendees; finished with a picnic lunch and discussion about how to amplify impact through collaboration and partnerships; thank you High Five Coaching CEO Mike Gellman for organizing this event!
