It Takes Little to Be Big. Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County empowers one-on-one relationships that ignite youths’ potential. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”) in communities across the country.
We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
SAVING LIVES, TWO AT A TIME™ We bring post-9/11 veterans together with trained, rescue dogs to help both recover and move forward.
Shelter to Soldier™ is a CA 501c3 nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local shelters and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Our program also places emotional support animals (ESAs) with active duty military, veterans, gold star families and first responders.
